TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said they are waiting for Egypt to give its approval to host a gathering of Palestinian leaders in Cairo.

Mousa Mohammed Abu Marzook, a senior member of Hamas, said Russia has already announced its readiness to host the meeting, Al-Alam reported.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said Hamas seeks to stand with the Fatah movement to put this difficult stage behind and promote awareness among all Palestinian groups against enemy plots.

Abu Marzook also said in previous talks with Fatah, there was little seriousness about realizing Palestinian reconciliation but this time the situation is different.

He also underlined that Palestinian reconciliation is an internal issue of Palestine.

The first meeting of leaders of Palestinian groups was held in September via videoconference in Beirut and Ramallah.
